Follow Up 2 -- JVC & FireWire

From Phil Finkler, "After reading your message regarding the JVC DV Camcorders, I did some homework on the web. It seems that there are mixed results on using the cybercams with apple products. I own one of these cams, but never tried to upload video back to the camera. After playing with it for awhile I'm happy to say it is indeed possible to upload to this camera. It does take some monkeying in Final Cut Pro to do it. After reviewing everything I read on the net, my feeling is that people don't understand the software enough and don't have a clue to what they are doing. Some people though did have valid problems. One thing I did have to do to get the camera to accept video was to turn DV compression OFF before sending to the camera. I myself don't know a whole lot about Final Cut Pro, but this option by default was on for me, and when I uploaded video, the display on the camera was garbled and nothing showed up on tape. So, give that a try. I'm interested to hear what happens when others try with this option off."
