is available for download. There is also a version (1.0.2) that works with Mac OS X. Forest is $10 shareware that plays soothing nature sounds in the background. Unfortunately, there are no ocean wave or bubbling brook sounds as yet.

[9:00a 12/17] Game Update--Cro-Mag Rally v1.0.6 is available for download in demo and full versions.

"Fixes weird problem on G3's where OpenGL would say that the Rage 128 card installed is not OpenGL compliant. Fixes several network play issues. Fixes texture problem with 3Dfx cards which do not support 512 size textures. Better memory handling on Macs with only 64MB of RAM."

[9:45p 12/16] Game--Temple Tantrum v1.0 is $18 shareware from Ground Zero Software. It is now available for download (9+ MB) from GZ's server. Temple Tantrum is very similar in play to the old game Crystal Quest but with an Indiana Jones theme and modern graphics and sound files.The game begins in a courtyard with a variety of hazards and only one way out guarded by an electrical field. One has to break open all the rocks to collect the jewels inside them while avoiding the hazards (snakes, buzz saws, prickly things, bugs, etc.) and while collecting bonuses and score multipliers that appear for a few seconds. Once all the jewels are collected, the electrical field turns off and one can escape to the next more difficult level. From the author Jeffrey Hester, "Your ultimate goal is to complete all levels in the game, gathering as many gems, treasures and other goodies as you go, eventually retrieving the Phoenix Eye. 'Temple' contains over 100 different levels, consisting of several different divisions. Your journey begins in the courtyard but will take you through the garden, fire, maze, dungeon, tower, and treasure levels." I really enjoyed Crystal Quest many years ago and Temple Tantrum is more fun to play and it takes a lot more skill. The demo is good for 30 days.

[7:30p 12/16] Interware Out of Business? MacNN.Com reported today that Interware, the Japanese manufacturer of CPU upgrades (originally sold in the US by Vimage), appears to have closed and filed for bankruptcy. However, MacNN incorrectly reports that their web site is down. We just checked it and it is still up and functioning. MacNN apparently posted an incorrect URL ("www.iijnet.or.jp/Interware/"). We've asked our contacts in Japan to follow up.
