nVidia Buying 3dfx

according to this CNet article. Last month we noted that 3dfx was changing its business plan to just be a chip supplier and board designer like nVidia. This may be bad news for Mac gamers unless someone makes an OEM board using nVidia graphics chips for the Mac. No one does at present. Only 3dfx has offered any competition to Apple graphics OEM supplier ATI by first making Voodoo3 drivers for the Mac and then producing Voodoo5 and Voodoo4 graphics cards for the Mac. Although ATI's new Radeon is faster, the video quality of 3dfx's Voodoo series is superior, as noted in Macs Only's Comparo.
