G4 Cube Issues/News

Several people have commented that their Power Mac G4 Cube came with a few hairline cracks, some around the top bolts and some on the face with the Apple logo that can best be seen with a desklamp while other lights are off. [Update: Brian Leslie pointed out that an Apple TIL of last week notes that the Cube has surface mold lines: "These lines are called mold lines, and occur when the enclosure is manufactured. They are only on the enclosure's surface. Mold lines are not cracks, and do not represent a weakness or defect in the plastic." These may be what some are seeing as cracks. I have not noticed them on my Cube.--Bill]

According to John Whitley, the Cube arrived last Tuesday in Edinburgh, Scotland, some 10 days to two weeks before expectation.
