Update--Montgomery County, MD, Replacing 47,000 Macs with PCs?

We originally posted (May 24 & 25) an anonymous note and a confirmation of sorts that this may be happening, as incredible as it may sound. The driving force was an incompatible grading/attendance system that some "brilliant" bureaucrat purchased. We asked the Montgomery County School Board members for their side of the story with a series of six questions as did many readers according to the copies we received. Unfortunately, we have received no response to date from the BOE. We did get one unconfirmed forwarded portion of an email:

"I received the following forward message, sent from Pat O'Neill (who I'm told is the Bethesda elected member and head of the School Board) to another person who wrote in because of your article:

'>This is not true. We received numerous emails. Not true."

Maybe. But we will not be satisfied until we either get a direct response from a school official or a complete response that can be confirmed forwarded from a reader.
