Apple Store Quality Control
When we stopped by the Apple store in Tysons Corner, VA, to ensure that they would have free CDs Saturday morning, we were stopped on the way out by an Apple marketing representative who was conducting a quality control survey. He asked if we would take 5 minutes and answer a few questions then Apple would give us a cash payment. We were selected at random among those leaving without buying anything and would have answered the questions without the cash payment but, hey, we're not going to refuse money pressed on us. The questions ranged from why we came to the store and how often to the courtesy and knowledge of the employees to the effectiveness of the areas we visited. It also covered our Mac experience and ownership and interest in digital devices. It took just under 5 minutes. We got a nice "thank you" letter from Apple and a $20 bill--our mail/phone full Mac OS X 10.1 upgrade just became free. Most of all, however, we are glad to see that Apple is monitoring the stores' effectiveness.
