Dual G4 Speed Illustration

We ran the latest Altivec Fractal Carbon v1.0.1 on our 400 MHz G3 PowerBook 2000 (FireWire) and our Power Mac G4 533 DP, both running Mac OS X. The difference is phenomenal:

    PowerBook 2000 (400 MHz G3) - 0.087 Gigaflops (164.6 seconds)

    Power Mac G4 533 DP - 3.296 Gigaflops (4.0 seconds)

The 533 DP is potentially about 40 times faster.
