Hands-On Report--X3 for Mac OS X has Landed

From reader Jake Luck, the author, "X3 is an application that visualizes the system performance in the form of a real-time rotating 3D-object in the Dock. It is designed to use very little memory and processor cycles so you can keep it running all the time. Check it out at this page and/or download it."

X3 can take on seven different shapes: 2 planes, a ball, 3 crosses, a cube and a die. The object can be set to rotate faster or slower as the CPU gets loaded up. The color of the image and it's background can be set. We installed X3 as one of the crosses (see photo above, center icon) in our Dock. It's pretty cool, cooler than Apple's CPU monitor in our opinion.
