How is Macs Only! Doing?

News during the weekend was very light. While we were catching up on processing our web log files, we thought maybe our readers might be interested in how we are doing with regard to readership given the current economic slump in the tech sector.

The first graph shows the recent 9-month trend in Macs Only! readership.

Overall readership grew by over 25 per cent. Unique visits, the ones that advertisers like, grew faster--over 30 per cent. In addition, we remain in the Top 20 at SiteLink.Net and number 2 in News & Commentary.

Is the browser war really over?

Among the visitors to Macs Only!, most (60 per cent) use some version of Microsoft's Internet Explorer. However, nearly 30 per cent still use some version of Netscape so the war may not be over if Netscape still wishes to fight. Explorer 5.5 is a Windows version and 5.1 is the version that comes with Mac OS X.

What about the distribution of operating systems used when accessing Macs Only!?

Nearly 70 per cent use some version of Mac OS but surprisingly over a quarter of our visitors use some version of Windows. The remaining 6 per cent consists largely of different version of Unix.
