More Windows XP Silliness
"When Bill Gates takes the stage Sunday evening, he'll add a new dimension to his Windows XP presentation -- music and DVD video.
Direct from Down Under, balladeers Bonacci and Wood will entertain the audience with their refreshing songs and style.
The warm-up concert will also be filmed. While Gates explains the changes in today's marketplace and the wonders of XP, Australia's Opulent Multimedia Group will be busy producing not one, but two, professional-quality DVD-R discs of the concert. At the end of his speech, one of the two DVDs will be played for the audience as proof of Windows XP's strong multimedia content creation capabilities.
The DVD Production Team:
* Pinnacle Systems' powerful new full-featured DC2000 real-time video processing, editing and MPEG2 encoding system
* Panasonic's DVD-RAM/R drive will be used to write to two DVD Forum-approved DVD-R discs that will play on virtually any DVD player
* A talented, creative Australian team headed by Anthony Chidiac

Authoring DVD's, of course, has been available on the Power Mac for most of this year with Apple's SuperDrive and outstanding free iDVD software using the "tired, old" classic Mac OS--DVD Production Team not included and not needed! [Yes, it's a legitimate press release from a well-known communications outfit that we chose not to embarrass.]
