Office 2001 for Mac OS X--Do the Math

Microsoft is trying hard to get you to not wait for the Mac OS X version. M$ is offering a $50 rebate for buying Office 2001 now (3/5-6/30) and half off the upgrade price when the OS X version comes out, i.e. for $149, according to this Microsoft web page. Let's see, that works out to be $298 for those who don't go through the interim upgrade step from Office 98 but $299-50+149= $398 for those who do. Looks like a $100 price break for those who skip the non-Mac OS X Office 2001 version.
