Quake III Arena for the Mac Discontinued

according to an article yesterday on MacGamer. Q3A is one of the most popular 3D shooter games for the Mac. A Mac OS X beta version just came out but it relies on one having a copy of the Mac OS retail version installed. MacGamer had no explanation for this action from Activision, publisher for id Software. Perhaps because there is a Mac hack to convert the PC version which usually sells for less than the Mac version in retail outlets and Activision will be focussing on supporting Mac OS X--let's hope.
