Sears Out Again as Mac Retailer by the End of May
From Dana Baggett, "With a quote from a Sears spokesperson, this story looks official. I say 'Good riddance.' I was a big supporter of getting Sears back into the Apple retail presence. The impact in the hinterlands I thought would be significant. What I hadn't counted on was Sears poor sales staff. Turnover at my local store of retail clerks on the floor in the television-technology part of the store is rapid. And, those that are there don't know Apples from oranges. My Sears has never given much display room to iMacs after the initial roll out. They sit forlornly on an inside aisle. Sears is so concerned about the iBook walking away that they have it literally caged so you can't appreciate its looks. And when a customer walked into the store looking to buy one and the clerk actually steered the woman away, I threw up my hands. And then of course the 'famous' Sears 10% off sale was the only time you could buy one at MSRP! Poor."
