Apple Disbanding G4 Cube Development Team?

Yes, according to this MacUser UK article. The article also states that Apple bought back CompUSA's inventory of Cubes, some 3000 of them because CompUSA couldn't sell them. A search of CompUSA's by Bill Jensen reveals that none are available most places. Does this signal the end of the Cube or just that their development is done for now and speed/size upgrades are all that are in the Cube's near future. We're hoping that it is the latter as we hold the view that the Cube is the best desktop computer ever "for the rest of us." However, we are considering hedging on that hope by getting another just in case it's soon to become a collector's item, especially if they suddenly drop significantly again in price.
