[Update] New iBook Deal for $1149 at CompUSA: The Washington Post had a full page ad on the Tysons Corner store Grand Reopening which included $150 off any complete computer (does not exclude Apple) system, i.e. computer, monitor and printer. Bill Jensen reported getting a new iBook/CD model and printer with the discount. The sale is on Saturday only.

[Update] TechTool Pro v3.0.4 CD Arriving: From Dana Baggett, "True to its word, MicroMat mailed the TT Pro 3.0.4 CD as part of my TT Pro Quarterly subscription on June 27 from Santa Rosa, CA, regular mail. It arrived today."

[Update] QuickTime 5.0.2 Standalone updater is available for download for those having problems with the update menu on the QT Settings control panel. [Warning! Dana Baggett used this updater and somehow his AirPort settings were modified to the point that AirPort was rendered unusable.]

[Update] QuickTime Update for Mac OS X Too! You get the new Sorenson 3 CODEC with an odd procedure posted Friday on Accelerate Your Mac. "...here's what you do:

1. Select 'Quick Time' in 'System Prefs'
2. Select 'Update' tab
3. Select 'Install new 3rd-party QuickTime software'
4. Click 'Update Now'
5. The alert box will tell you no update is necessary, but...
6. Click 'Custom'
7. In the new window you'll see 'QuickTime Update' -- once selected, the description tells you it's the Sorenson 3 codec
8. Click 'Update Now'..."

We tried it and it worked.
