In his keynote address at WWDC 2002, Apple CEO Steve Jobs praised Mac OS 9 and proclaimed its death for developers. Not ruling out maintenance releases, Jobs stated that all development work hereafter will focus on Mac OS X, using a coffin and funeral music to illustrate his statement.
