Improvements for Word X

Quartz Text Smoothing--If you are using Mac OS X version 10.1.5 or later, Word X enables Quartz text smoothing by default. Quartz text smoothing makes text more readable by using the Quartz drawing engine to smooth the edges of characters on the screen.

Stability Improvements--Word X should now run more smoothly and efficiently due to stability enhancements made in all areas of Word.

Performance Improvements
• Printing speed with certain complex border art applied has been significantly improved.
• Performance when manipulating on-screen objects has been improved, resulting in faster screen updates and better overall performance.
• Vertical scrolling performance in long documents has been improved.

Entering Characters That Have Accents--Previously, there were problems typing accented characters in certain fonts while the Formatting Palette was displayed. These problems have been fixed.
