Maine Gov. Fights for iBook Deal

The saga of 36,000+ iBooks for Maine's 7-8 grade students and teachers that Macs Only! first broke last year among Mac web sites continues. Steve Jobs mentioned the landmark deal in his Macworld keynote in early January. Maine Governor Angus King replied to criticism in this Lewiston Sun Journal Online article. With most states, if not all, feeling the pinch of the current recession, some in Maine's legislature want to trim or deep six the $37 million deal that also included AirPort networking for the 7-8 grade schools.
