Fixing the Fraud Problem

We used a hack to fix our problem with bounced fraudulent email. Working with our ISP, Pair.com, they added a filter to our account on their server which blocked all email to us that is generated by other servers. This stopped all of the bounced messages sent our way but it also stopped email that we actually sent but bounced due to an incorrectly typed address, etc. For those who know Unix, this is the ".procmailrc" file that Pair added to our account:

:0
* ^FROM_MAILER
/dev/null

This problem almost shut us down but it was not the only problem. We still received a couple of hundred "regular" spam per day.
