From the Dark Side--M$ Pays $60 Million for Patent Infringement

The self-professed innovation company, Microsoft, lost another patent infringement lawsuit according to this Excite News article from the New York Times. This one was by SPX for Imagexpo's video conferencing technology. The jury award of $62.3 M could have been tripled because they found the infringement to have been purposeful but SPX settled for $60 M in hand rather than almost $190 M in the bush. [Dana Baggett]
