[Update 8:30a PT 1/20] Apple's Safari Downloads Topped 1 Million: Apple today announced that more than 1 million copies of its new Safari web browser have been downloaded since the free public beta was posted on Apple’s web site (www.apple.com) on January 7.

"Safari is a home run, with over a million downloads in less than two weeks," said Steve Jobs, Apple's CEO. "Mac users have discovered that Safari beta release is already the fastest browser on the Mac and possibly the best browser in the world."

Safari has been our web browser of choice since it was released. So far we've found only a few javascript-intensive web sites that have problems. They are probably using Microsoft's bastardized version.

[Update 8p PT 1/18] MIT Spam Conference held Friday at the Cambridge campus is available as four RealVideo webcast sessions. They will be up for six months. Mac users will need the free RealOne player to view/hear the webcasts. Abstracts of the talks are also available on line as an html text file.
