Use.

We set up two automatic backup actions to two different Firewire drives connected to our PowerBook G4. Every night our Address Book, Mail and Macs Only! web files are backed up to a small 6 GB portable Firewire drive that travels with the PowerBook. Every Sunday morning our PowerBook's whole drive, applications and system files and all, is backed up to a large Firewire hard drive. We originally intalled Mac OS X on both drives so that our PowerBook will boot from either drive.

The daily backup takes just 35 seconds to complete despite having thousands of emails. The full drive weekly backup takes 12 minutes to compare some 22 GB of 260,000+ files and update the backup drive. At the completion of each backup, a small widow is displayed showing the number of files changed and the time it took.
