Wintel Pay-Per-Song Music Store Opens in Europe

The OD2 music company with 200,000 songs has contracted with Microsoft's MSN to deliver songs on a pay-per-song basis using M$'s Windows Media Player 9 according to this ZDNet article. This service uses the same delivery model, including shopping within WMP9, as Apple's iTunes Music Store for a price of 0.99 euros mostly. Whole albums can be downloaded as well. However, it is not clear if the songs are as restriction free as those from Apple's iTunes Music Store. [Dana Baggett]
