Apple Releasing 4th Quarter Financials Today in Webcast--A Record?

As we noted last week, Apple will hold a conference call with with industry analysts today at 2 p.m. PT (5 p.m. ET). Apple will provide live audio streaming of its FY 05 Fourth Quarter Results Conference Call utilizing Apple’s QuickTime multimedia software. The live audio webcast will be accessible through Apple’s Web site by anyone interested. One just needs a copy of QuickTime 6 or QuickTime 7 to listen to the conference call.

Apple is expected to report a record profit for its fourth fiscal quarter that ended September 30th following significant increases in computer sales and huge increases in iPod sales. The analyst forecasts that we have been able to find predict earnings of $0.36 per share in this AP story and $0.37 in this Forbes.com story and by Thomson First Call. That would beat the $0.13 earnings per share (adjusted for Apple's stock split--thanks Joe Sasanuma!) of the fourth quarter of 2004 by a large margin (see this Macs Only! story). As usual, we expect Apple to do better than published guesses. [Bill Fox & Dana Baggett]
