Brief Hands-On Report--Mozilla's Thunderbird 1.0.7 Email Client is Out

Thunderbird 1.0.7 is a security and stability update that is part of our ongoing program to provide a safe Internet experience for our customers. We recommend that all users upgrade to this latest version.

However, there are no security updates listed in the release notes.

Mozilla includes an important installation note,

To avoid crashes or other problems, do not install a new version using the installer into the same folder as an older zipped installation.

We downloaded and installed Thunderbird 1.0.7 with no problems. Thunderbird is our backup email application to Apple Mail. We also use it as our primary email application when we are forced to use a Wintel PC which, fortunately, is not very often these days. [Bill Fox]
