iPod Maps--Google and Subway

Here's a really cool idea for iPods with color screens that we found on the Web--maps! Take a Google map and cut it up into 220x176 pixel sections with Adobe Photoshop Elements or any similar graphic application and save them as JPEG files. Then import them in logical order into your iPod via iPhoto. Here is a tutorial by Ian Meyer using screenshots and iPhoto.

One of the coolest implementations is by iPodSubwayMaps.com which has posted free downloadable maps of subway or metro systems in many cities and countries. Just completed this weekend is Los Angeles. They also have Boston, Chicago, New York City, San Francisco, Washington DC, Hong Kong, London, Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver (BC). [Bill Fox]
