Maine iBook Program Spawns Free School-Kid Home Internet Initiative

In an effort to reduce the digital divide, former Maine Gov. Angus King has been working on an initiative to bring free internet into the homes of school kids who are part of the iBook program and who get free or reduced price schoool lunches. Former Gov. King started the iBook program for seventh and eigth graders in Maine during his administration.

Some $850,000 has already been rasied for the free internet program formed as a partnership between the Maine Learning Technology Foundation and Great Works Internet.
