Cool Mac Software--smcFanControl 1.2.3 is Out

smcFanControl allows one to manually set minimum fan speeds in MacBooks, MacBook Pros and Intel-based Mac minis. Version 1.2.3 adds support for the new 17" MacBook Pro Core 2 Duo and provides some fixes related to authentication. It's available via MacUpdate.com.

We used smcFanControl on our our 15" MacBook Pro because the fans could be set separately. However, we use FanControl, a different application, on our Intel-based Mac mini. Both work well to keep our computers cooler. [Bill Fox]
