Eject Key "Delay" in Mac OS X 10.4.9 confirmed as Feature in Apple KB Article

We previously noted (3/15 and 3/16) that keystroke combinations that include the "eject" key like "option-command-eject" (sleep) and "control-eject" (restart-sleep-shutdown dialog box) have a slight "delay" in Mac OS X 10.4.9. The slight delay is actually a press-hold action rather than sharply striking the key. We commented that we thought it was a feature to prevent inadvertent actions rather than a bug as some claimed.

Apple posted this Knowledge Base article confirming that it is a feature of the "Eject" key under Mac OS X 10.4.9 to avoid inadvertent actions. [Dana Baggett]
