Microsoft Takes It in the Shorts!: Late yesterday, Federal Judge Thomas Penfield Jackson preliminarily found against Microsoft's greedy practice, issuing a preliminary injunction (PI) which causes the humongous software corporation to cease and desist from requiring computer manufacturers with Windows licenses to include Internet Explorer. Judge Jackson issued the PI because the Justice Department is likely to win the case on its merits and without the PI irreparable harm would result in the interim. Judge Jackson may yet edge out Federal Judge Charles R. Richey as Macs Only!'s all time favorite contemporary federal judge. [Update 11:20p EST] Here's an article in The Washington Post.
