From Gary Zuinan regarding the Microsoft/GTE Cal State University CETI plan:
"There's a good article here that covers a lot of ground. You might want to mention that I believe it's more effective [contacting State Officials] than just attacking Microsoft (maybe not as fun). The three issues seem to be:
  • Academic Freedom
  • Not locking Cal State students into what could be outdated technology - in essence dumping technology, services or products that no one else wants but the students are stuck.
  • Ironic use of California taxpayer money to fund companies to attack California based competitors such as Sun, SGI, PacBell, Netscape and of course, Apple.
[T]he URL for the members of the Cal State trustees on the CETI board is here and the main page of California [State] Government here will link people to the the Assembly, Senate, & Governor."
