ISDN service is excellent--Bell Atlantic and AdTran (the terminal adapter maker) did great jobs in making a seemingly confusing transition nearly painless. Now, my email is retrieved and sent very rapidly and moving among web sites is also much quicker. Page download speed are still limited by server speed and the current load on the site but it is noticeably faster on most sites and much faster on others. File downloads on non-overloaded sites are much, much faster. The best I did routinely with my 56K modem (though not getting 56K from my ISP, usually just 28.8K) was 3.7K/sec and now that is about 12K/sec--the average was more like 3K/sec and now it's 10K/sec. No shrieking modems and the initial connection is in seconds rather than in tens of seconds or even minutes. I'll post a complete review with lots of lessons learned sometime this coming week.
