NEWS.COM reported on a copyright can of worms for the internet. The story appears to have it slightly wrong in inferring that just linking to sites may be a copyright violation. The news service being sued is alleged to have actually copied original text in making summaries associated with its links. As far as I read copyright law and as my attorney advises, that appears to be a violation of copyright law in the U.S. and as alleged in England by The Times of London which brought the suit.
