Reader Dana Baggett noted that Claris served notice that it will no longer support MacWrite II and MacPaint software. They are being "retired" as well as MacWrite Pro, MacProject Pro, Easy Business Cards and Claris OfficeMail after December 31, 1997. Registered owners may upgrade to ClarisWorks 5.0 for $49. We both fondly remember the great MacWrite/MacPaint applications that came on a single low density diskette with each original Macintosh back in 1984. We also used the very first office suite--it came with the Lisa and a 5 MB hard drive just before the Macs debuted.
