Startup Doubler 1.0pb2 promises to decrease your startup time. MacFixIt received replies from many readers that said SD either didn't work or provided a marginal speed up. Ted also received replies that said it worked. SD decreased the extensions loading time on my PowerBase 180 by about 8 seconds (from 45 seconds to 37 seconds). On my Quadra 605, SD reduced the extension load by 6 seconds (from 38 to 32 seconds) and the overall startup time by 12 seconds (from 66 to 54 seconds). These numbers are significant to me so I hope Marc has a final release soon.
