CharisMac's Anubis 3.0 Plus

arrived to day. Most of my hard drives are from ClubMac which provides Anubis drivers and utilities. This update to v3.0 (my highest previous version was 2.5.6 received last August) enables Apples HFS+ format. The upgrade cost $14.95 plus $3.50 shipping.

Friday, I received three more Village Tronic video boards for review. Two work in NuBus Macs. Stay tuned.

Reduced Prices! From Marc Schmitt of Village Tronic, the Mac Picasso 540 and 3D Overdrive (with a 3Dfx chip set) are now offered at the bundled price of $549.95 (down from $749.95 or $799.90 separately). The price of the Mac Picasso 540 alone was reduced to $199.95 and the 3D Overdrive alone to $399.95. They are available from The Software Hut. Macs Only! recently reviewed the Mac Picasso 540 and 3D Overdrive. The latter has been updated and will be updated further after some additional testing this weekend.

Apple's press release announced it is discontinuing the development of new Newton-OS based products like the MessagePad 2100 and eMate. The products will continue to be supported, of course.

Apple also posted a feature note on QuickTime VR (virtual reality).
