Wow. Claris shipped it on 2/11 and that means they processed my order in about 5 business days. Unbelievable."

From reader Tom Mackie on the disappearing Mac printer issue, "Keeping in mind that Canon makes both Apple & HP's printers (with a couple of unique exceptions over the years, such as the Laserwriter 360 which was made by Xerox), I would guess that a marketing decision was made that with Laser's dropping down into the low end price range (such as HP's 6Lse -- price $470 from MacZone), that they'll kill off Stylewriter sales anyway. Of course, that leaves the person who wants color (even if that capability is a concession to his kids) pretty well limited in choices. More importantly, it means that one is entirely dependent on Epson to ensure that drivers are consistent with new iterations of the Mac OS." This is pretty scary. The best solution is for Apple to begin including a standard PC parallel port on its computers.
