Apple's Third Quarter Profit Is $203 Million

according to Apple's press release. As has become usual, Apple's financial performance without non-recurring income beat the analysts' forcast of 64 cents per share by 5 cents. Revenues were up as were gross margins. iMac sales again led the way proving that elegant simplicity for the rest of us continues to be a major force in computer purchase decisions. Apple also announced it will repurchase $500 million in common stock. Together, these announcements caused Apple's stock to rise by over 2 points. iCEO Steve Jobs is proving that his fiduciary responsibility is to the stock holders as Macs Only! maintained he would when others questioned his early decisions. I suspect the only unhappy stock holders are those who didn't buy enough when Steve took over.
