SearsWATCH--Sears Is Sounding Like Best Buy

From Elliot Roth, "I had a chance to check out the iMac display at my Local SEARS in Charlotte, NC. This one is at the Carolina Place Mall. Upon entering the computer department I spotted one lone iMac sitting on the end cap of the aisle. On the screen was a jumble of NEW folders and folders with garbage names on them. Upon opening some of these folders I found that they contained many important parts of the OS and other applications. Many files had been renamed with random letters and were scattered all over the screen. Also on screen were several collapsed windows. I tried to find a demo program to startup and run, but since almost every file and program I could find had been renamed in random letters, this proved impossible. I eventually found Nanosaur and left that running. The iMac also had one price on the computer and a different price on the display rack. The more prominent price being $100 higher than the price on the small rack tag. Throughout the entire time I was at the iMac not a single salesperson came over to help me. There were 3 sales people just 20 feet away all talking with each other and they made no effort to even see what was going on in their department." [I guess a $12 sales commission doesn't motivate desktop maintenance or a 20-foot walk in the otherwise disinterested.--Bill]
