, the no-stock on line retailer located in Charlottesville, VA, has been trying to turn things around since a disastrous holidays season. I haven't tried buying anything recently from VA but they've taken care of some outstanding issues posted previously on Macs Only! Dana Baggett was finally credited for an AppleCare Protection Plan contract that was ordered but never delivered. Ken Wehr, in probably the most egregious case, was finally credited the full amount for his canceled iMac order and returned bundled peripherals. VA had charged him restocking fees even on the iMac which was never delivered and his credit card company was no help. Ken was persistent which resulted on no restocking fees being charged.

[8:30p 4/1] From the Dark Side--Microsoft Antitrust Settlement Talks Bomb according to this Yahoo News article just as anyone who is even partially alert should have expected. Chicago Federal Judge Posner, the court-appointed mediator, folded his settlement tent after completely wasting 4 months and a ton of money. Give me a break. Microsoft won't settle for anything more than it did last time when its greedy monopolizing wrists were slapped and the ensuing settlement proved to be completely unenforceable. Microsoft can't win in court so I expect it to try to delay and "win" politically with the next Administration which will handle the certain Supreme Court appeal if not the Appeals Court appeal. [3:30p 4/1] Follow Up -- IE5 & Printing Issue: Dick Chanslor found out why he couldn't print from Internet Explorer 5.0. The cause was a conflict with QuickKeys 3.0. "Turns out the conflict only occurs when my QuicKeys 3.0 is enabled. If I turn off QuicKeys from the control panel, I can print from IE 5 with either my Epson SC 850 or a 740i. I don't know whether the current version, QuicKeys 4.1, has the same conflict, or whether it occurs with other printer brands."
