Good News--Mobile Canadian Gets Cube Repaired in US

In our November 11-12 Weekend Edition we pointed out an apparent Apple policy that only allowed Canadian-purchased PowerBooks to be repaired in the US while Canadians are in the US. According to Don Leslie, a Canadian who like many winters in Florida, the policy excluded not only all desktops but the easily transported G4 Cube as well. Don happily reported shortly after our note appeared that Apple had relented and sent to him in Sarasota, FL, a box to return his Canadian-purchased G4 Cube that had the random shut-down problem. Don reports that Apple quickly returned (sent Monday and returned on Friday) his Cube apparently cured of the problem. Hopefully, Don's experience represents a permanent change in Apple's repair policy toward mobile Canadians.
