Mac OS 9 Update (v9.0.4) Works Fine on Rev.A iMac

From Dana Baggett, "Another page carried reader report that Update Mac OS 9 crashed an iMac Rev/A machine, causing the user to reinstall Mac OS 9, etc. Much gnashing of teeth, cursing Apple, etc. So, I approached the update of my old iMac Rev/A, now residing at my daughter's house, with some trepidation. I backed up the hard drive and did various and sundry other things including some mumbo jumbo, before running the updater. So, of course, all went well. At first her Imation 2X drive didn't show up on the desk top after the install, but pulling and reinserting the USB connection cured that problem. Otherwise, it was a piece of cake."
