"Open Transport 2.6 addresses DHCP issues in Mac OS 9.0 and prevents Macintosh computers from being used in certain types of Denial of Service (DoS) issues. Open Transport is the networking software in the Mac OS. This software installer updates Open Transport to version 2.6.
