Possible Bogus New iMac Modem Test Making Rounds

Monday night Macs Only! received an emailed report allegedly conducted by an engineer which purported to show that the new slot-loading iMacs' 56K modems are defective and have connection problems, i.e. connecting at 28-33K instead of 45-50K. Fortunately, I know that my iMac DV SE and Dana Baggett's iMac 350 SL connect at v.90 speeds of 45-51K so I didn't post the alleged test results. However, one prominent Mac web site who received the same report did. The authors of the email that MacInTouch posted and the one Macs Only! received are not the same so I suspect foul play from The Dark Side.
