Mac OS X 10.4.9 "Control-Eject" Key Command "Delay" Confirmed

One minor effect of applying the Mac OS X 10.4.9 update is that the sequence of simultaneously pressing the "control" and "eject" keys that brings up the Restart-Sleep-Cancel-Shutdown dialog box is slowed somewhat, i.e. the two keys have to be deliberately pressed and held for nearly a second to bring up the dialog box. We can confirm that this happens on all of our Macs with a Power Mac G5 requiring the longest hold.

While some may consider this delay to be a nuisance, quite frankly, we consider it to be a feature that prevents the inadvertent triggering of this action and shutting down the computer since shutdown is the default action.

We have had reports of a few other issues with 10.4.9, some simply requiring updated versions of third-party software (e.g. MainMenu and Keyword Assistant--Erik Darby), but we can not confirm them on our Macs. [Bill Fox & Dana Baggett]
