Two-way Satellite Internet Service Began Yesterday

according to this CNet article. StarBand Communications is offering the service through Radio Shack. The pioneer, Hughes DirectPC, is a one-way satellite internet service (i.e. download only) so to send email or upload files, one has to use a telephone modem connection. Here is a Washington Post article. Two-way service will make satellite internet service a much more attractive broadband alternative.
