Y2K Transition Seems Largely a Whimper at Most

It appears that mostly a good job was done cleaning up to problems associated with 2-digit year designations in databases and applications in use to date. With the work week starting today, some issues may arise. Dale Anderson and Eugene Chan sent me screenshots of Apple's front page at 6:04 p.m. and 6:14 p.m. PT respectively on December 31st. The date on the time/date clock was fouled up, reading ",20100". It is also possible that the site was hacked. Shortly thereafter the date/time clock was deleted from the page and is still missing as of publication time.
