Apple Customer Service Kudos!

On Sunday afternoon our last original 1999 AirPort Base Station suddenly died. Same symptoms as the others: unresponsive, alternating single red and three amber lights. We called AppleCare and ran through the normal check out procedure, including uploading the software again via a direct ethernet connection, to confirm that it was really dead. The Apple service person gave us a case number and an order number and ordered us a replacement--overnight! Monday was a holiday so it showed up first thing Tuesday morning. The replacement looks to be new. It was shrink wrapped and has a higher serial number than the one purchased by a neighbor in June. It set up and is running perfectly. The dead ABS is 20 months old but we got it with an original iBook which is still covered by AppleCare. We don't know if Apple would have replaced it if we did not have AppleCare on the iBook.
