Corel Released Public Beta of KnockOut v1.5.1 for Mac OS X

KnockOut is Corel's terrific application for pulling an image out of its background. Now it is carbonized for Mac OS X and a public beta is available for download. [9:15a] Mac OS 9.1 $99 for PowerBook G4 and Power Mac G4? Mik Endrody pointed out that if you go to the Apple Store, select the new PowerBook G4, select the particular model and then click the "Continue" button that the list of accessories on the next page includes Mac OS 9.1 for $99. The same is true for the new Power Mac G4 but not the iMac, iBook or Cube. I am sure this is an error since people receiving the new PowerBooks and Power Macs have mentioned that 9.1 is installed.

[9:15a] Symantec Updates February Virus Definitions Again? From Dana Baggett, "Symantec confirms here that the latest virus definitions for Mac are dated Feb. 7." Symantec began updating NAV 5, 6 & 7 virus definitions in mid-January and posted a series with new dates culminating in the February 7 set. It is unknown if there are any real differences among the postings but the LiveUpdate feature of the applications downloaded each of them in sequence for Dana Baggett.
