GeForce2 in a G4 Cube
The first thing we did was to wipe and partition the 20 GB drive into two 9 GB and one 2 GB partitions. We are going to install Mac OS X Server on the first partition, Mac OS 9.1 on the second and Virtual PC 4 with a slim Mac OS 9.1 system folder and some disk utilities on the third. Then we added 256 MB RAM for a total of 320 MB and switched out the ATI Rage 128 Pro graphics card for the NVIDIA GeForce2 MX card that came from our Power Mac G4 533 DP since we had added a GeForce3 to it. We simply had to exchange the face plates between the two graphics cards and the GeForce2 fit perfectly. It has been running in our Cube for several hours without a hitch.
We'll do some performance checks on the weekend and post them on Monday.
